Wrapping up Summer…in December

I look at my blog and see the pictures from June and it seems like just yesterday. It’s crazy how fast the time goes the older you get. These past few months have been full of the regular day to day activities with something fun and unexpected mixed in.

In June Brian and I had a fun time in Park City at Savor the Summit. This was our second year going, it has become the standard Father’s Day gift for Brian. All of Park City main street is closed down and the restaurants set up tables in the street and serve 5 course meals. This year we ate at Bangkok Thai and it was so delicious. My favorite was the purple, mango sticky rice. The rice was really purple!

Another exciting event was our Big Guy turned 6 this summer!  I can’t believe my baby is 6. This year for his birthday party I had to get really creative. He wanted a Zelda party. Did you know there is absolutely 0 party stuff for Zelda!?  I ended up making everything for the party.  The kids got to decorate shields, then they went on a scavenger hunt to find rupies (Zelda $) to buy swords, then they had a great time sword fighting each other.  I made cupcakes and they melted in the sun.  Oh well, the kids still loved them.

For Bentley’s 6 year old pictures we took him Foto Fly. He even got to take his guitar for the pictures. I love how the pictures turned out. Luckily we got the pictures take right in time because the next day his front tooth fell out. It was super lose and it was a big worry that his tooth would fall out before we got the pictures taken. Here are a few of my favorites.

Bentley has played in his first guitar showcase.  It was fun to see all of his hard work pay off.

Brian and I celebrated our 7th anniversary in August. This year it was Brian’s turn to plan what we did. He surprised me by taking us to Lagoon. It was fun to hang out alone all day and act like kids.

Other than that our summer was pretty uneventful. I spent most of my time sitting at the computer writing dreaded papers for my master’s classes. I am so glad I am finished!
